Although we attempt to do really fancy things for our kids to make them happy, in reality it’s the simple sweet things that really bring out the biggest smiles and helps build memories forever. While you plan to make this children’s day special for them, let me share my suggestions on really teeny things that you can do without any stress on your time or your pocket!
Let Them Know They Will Get 5 Surprises Today
My daughter loves surprises. Everyday she asks me ‘Ma, do you have a surprise for me?’ Imagine, if she wakes up and I tell her “Hey Baby! I have 5 surprises for you today!”All day, she is going to look forward to the things I have lined up for her and she is going to relish everything I do for her even more!
Breakfast does not need to be fancy, their favorite dish like a cheese sandwich in a fancy shape, like a car or a funny face and they will be thrilled.
Their Biggest Joy-Cadbury Dairy Milk
The after school surprise is really the most important. When they run out of the gate and see your face and you wave that Cadbury Dairy Milk, trust me you will have a commercial in the making. It sounds really simply, but you kiddo will love it!!
If your child loves animals, a great way to make them is to borrow a pet from a friend and let them have a blast! Be a kid and puppy around with them!
Family Cricket Hour
Playing cricket with kids is so much fun! Literally, whatever age they are, a cricket match where the entire family is involved can build the cutest memories. Roll on the floor and be a kid yourself! When we get down a match of cricket, we almost a troupe of 8! From My kids to my grand mom!
Mini Food for Dinner
You don’t need to cook anything elaborate, just make everything small! Mini parathas or chapattis! Baby potatoes, baby carrots, mini idlis, coin pizzas and they will be delighted!
Make Bed-Time Fun
Replace your normal bed-time story with a puppet story. They get so excited with that and when they sleep happy, they will have sweet dreams of the lovely children’s day they enjoyed!!
