Being a Mom of 2 daughters, I quite enjoy dolling them up and do put in that little extra effort to ensure that their entire outfit is well coordinated especially on important occasions. And obviously the end result is quite cute. In fact, there are times when you wish to twin them, and oh my, that’s even cuter!!
But at the end of that, you have not only spent a small fortune on dressing them up but you also have a whole pile of clothes which they will outgrow in no time. In my experience, kids grow in spurts and suddenly you will notice they have outgrown a whole set of clothes. There was a time when Tania outgrew 6 pairs of clothes without even wearing them once. I had bought some larger clothes for her in a sale and had put them away so that I could use them later. And all of sudden, she would fit into none.
This obviously gave me a mini heart attack and I’m sure most of us go through this. With daily wear clothes, it’s one thing, but when it comes to their party dresses which we buy on birthdays and festivals, it’s even worse. Firstly, you spend quite an amount for these little 6-inch clothes and then you are hardly able to make them wear it more than twice! We, parents, anyways have loads to look into and is it even worth being stressed out about something like this?
When Tania started going to playschool, she would come back with paint, mud, glue and food on her clothes all the time. We couldn’t even wash these things of her clothes. Her school’s rule is to have 7 pairs of clothes allocated for school-use so that, we are not worried about them soiling them and more-so, we don’t put these unnecessary worries on their little shoulders. I want my kids to play totally carefree, clothes should not even be on their mind…just imagine your child not participating in an activity, because he is worried about spoiling his clothes.
What I realize is that if you buy clothes for them that are not expensive, you will not be worried about them outgrowing clothes, nor will you ever bother them to take care of their clothes and let them enjoy life without these silly worries. Luckily to our rescue are big brands who do realize this and price kids clothes extremely low making them affordable; even starting at Rs99. So buying clothes for kids will never pinch your pocket nor will you have to wait for a sale to buy their clothes which they may outgrow even without even wearing.
