Motherhood is a unique journey – we all go through the many phases of our children’s behavioural changes and as ‘Mommas’ we are we constantly on our toes ensuring they eat well and are healthy and strong. With Tania just having started pre-school, she has suddenly become so active and playful; it has become tough to hold her back…especially at mealtimes.
Despite about her eating at the table, I am hardly able to contain her. As soon as her stomach is slightly full, she just pops out of her chair and goes right back to playing!
Recently someone told me about PediaSure for kids, which is a supplement that provides complete and balanced nutrition. It helps in healthy growth and development of children and reduces the chance of infections. I wondered if this is going to be the solution to my constant worry of providing adequate nutrition to my child.
PediaSure powder is available in 3 flavours, Vanilla Delight, Premium chocolate and Kesar-Badam of which I selected chocolate since anything chocolate works well with Tania. Yesterday, I gave it to her for the first time in milk and yayy; it seemed to have gone down pretty well with her. She’s a milk person anyways so I didn’t think it was going to be a challenge.
Balanced nutrition is so important for a child’s immunity and overall growth. And when you think about it, it’s really not easy since you will have to ensure that their diet includes sufficient amount of carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals and fibre. So, even though we attempt to provide as much through meals, it’s just comforting to know you have something extra to take care of their overall nutrition needs as well.
The additional benefit which made me consider the PediaSure nutrition supplement will also help in reducing sick days by boosting my child’s immunity through its mix of macronutrients, micronutrients, prebiotics and probiotics. This is required because kids in playschools and nurseries are exposed to so many infections that their Present days are almost equal to their ‘Absent’s days.
I’m actually feeling a sense of relief having started PediaSure as I know that in one way or another I am going to meet my child’s nutritional need. Hopefully that will help in maintaining a healthy increase in height and weight as well as overall growth which is the number one thing that bothers me and I’m sure most mothers’ world over.
A couple of things in to keep in mind – PediaSure powder can be taken with pre-boiled water or milk (temperature must be less than 35-degrees). While it’s Gluten Free, it’s not for children who are lactose intolerant or have galactosemia so it always helps to keep your friendly neighbourhood paediatrician looped in.
Although PediaSure approached me to review their product as part of their #90DaysWithPediaSure campaign, all views and opinions expressed in my writing are my own. So follow me on #MyPediaSureJourney as I show you just how the supplement has worked out form my child over the next few weeks.
While it’s easily available in stores, purchasing PediaSure online is also an option via Amazon.I’m already noticing a slight difference in my child’s health and I’ll be doing a follow up post over the next couple of months to outline her development with PediaSure.
